POLFLOW - Meaning of the parameters for the smoothed ramp function (PMAT menu)

A new function has been introduced in the PMAT menu in POLYDATA: the smoothed ramp. This function involves four parameters, referred to as a, b, c and d. What are their respective meanings?
The smoothed ramp function obeys an analytical expression, which can make it more suitable for describing a dependence of material properties with respect to a transport variable. The overall meaning of the parameters is the same as for the original ramp function. Parameters b and d refer respectively to the level of the left and right asymptotes, while parameters a and c, in combination with b and d, define the slope at the central point of the ramp. The smoothed ramp as well as a graphic representation of the four parameters are privided in the figure smoothed_ramp.gif attached below.
