In which book can one find an appropriate background on modelling of viscoelasticity and complex rheology? There are several books available, and the choice is certainly difficult. In particular, the scientific level may strongly vary from one book to the other one. Without being exhaustive, one may typically suggest the following texts (with increasing level of mathematics):: H.A. Barnes, J.F. Huttan, K. Walters; An introduction to rheology; Elsevier, Amsterdam, 1989. C.W. Macosko; Rheology : principles, measurements, applications; John Wiley & Sons, New York, 1994. R.B. Bird, R.C. Armstrong, O. Hassager; Dynamics of polymeric liquids, vol. I; 2nd ed., John Wiley & Sons, New York, 1987. For the time being, my preference goes for the book by Macosko. |
