POLYFLOW - Error in list1d, "Invalid qconnec initial seed"

A 2D simulation involves boundaries that are made of disconnected edges. The simulation runs apparently well, but the solver crashes with the following error message : "Error in list1d, Invalid qconnec initial seed; an error has occured during topological operation". The behaviour may differ according to the platform, for example:
-lnamd64 : the simulation crashes without any error message ; the listing file ends with "Postprocessor" bloc
-hpux11_64 : the simulation crashes without any error message ; only "memory fault" appears in the shell.
-lnia64 : error message : "Error in list1d, Invalid qconnec initial seed"
-alpha: the simulation crashes without any error message; a core file is created.

The trouble can be circumvented by using the keyword NO_CURVE_OUTPUT in .p3rc file for the POLYDATA session.
Other remedies are possible:
- split non-connected boundaries into individual boundary sets, or
- invoke POLYDATA with the keyword NO_AUTO_POSTPRO in a .p3rc file
