The configuration then stops.

What is causing this error?

SolidWorks doesn't uninstall all of their information from the machine once it has been installed.

The user needs to delete all registry keys matching this pattern which reside under "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" :

S*l*dWorks*.*.*

If nothing is found there, then check "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareSolidworks"

Also delete any copies of solidworks.exe that still exist on that machine.

This should allow the customer to complete the configuration.
