I have a single processor Windows XP machine with hyperthreading enabled. When I run a large CFX-5 solver job, the maximum CPU utilization I see is 50%.
The problem also takes longer to run than I think it should based on my experience with other machines. What could be the
cause of this behavior ?

CFX-5 isn't configured to take advantage of hyperthreading since we assign our parallel jobs explicitly. It doesn't make sense, therefore, to run a CFX-5
solver job with hyperthreading enabled and there may be a negative effect on performance if it is turned on.

Hyperthreading can be disabled by modifying the system BIOS by entering setup when the machine is booted up.

You should now see the CPU utilization for large jobs approach 100% for a single processor machine.
