SYMPTOM:
When trying to start CFX-Pre within Workbench, an error dialog box appears with the title 'Error in AdvancedCFD Applet'. The following error message is contained in the dialog:
'error in onActivate: socketError: Socket::Socket ' listen'.
When pressing 'OK' on the dialog, Workbench shuts down.
PROBLEM:
The cause of this error is a bad interaction between Ansys CFX software and the McAfee firewall software.

WORKAROUND: 1) Disable the McAfee firewall to allow CFX programs to run within Workbench, OR, 2) Add Workbench and the CFX programs to the list of trusted programs for the McAfee firewall. FIXED IN: |
