Can the MultiField solver handle rotated interface nodes? Forces from the magnetic solution
to the structural solution where rotated nodes exist on the boundary do not look correct.
In ANSYS 9.0 when the nodes of the structural elements at an electrostatic-structural interface are rotated, the electrostatic forces are applied incorrectly in the rotated nodal coordinate system. In the attached example the nodes are rotated 45 degrees from normal and the forces get applied at a 45 degree angle to the surface when they should be perpendicular. This error has been corrected in ANSYS 10.0 [Ref: Defect 32088] Note: Do not try to rotate nodes of fields which have to be morphed. At ANSYS 10.0 morphed fields must have nodal coordinate systems of global cartesian. |
