My Particle Tracking solution contains the variable "Particle.Wall Mass Flow Density", where "Particle" is the name of my particle material. This has negative values on the walls, is this normal?

There are two Mass Flow Density variables available in CFX-Post: 1. "Particle.Mass Flow Density" is defined on Inlets, Outlets and Openings. A positive value indicates particle mass flow into the domain and a negative value indicates particle mass flow out of the domain. This variable will be zero on all the walls since there is no particles mass flow through the walls. 2. "Particle.Wall Mass Flow Density" is defined on Walls. It gives the particle accumulation rate on walls. The sign convention is negative because the CFX Solver sees these particles as being removed from the calculation. |
