In ANSYS 11.0, BladeEditor and TurboGrid use similar methods for determining the periodic surfaces between adjacent blades. Different methods are still used for the portion of the periodic surface upstream and downstream of the blade. However, given that (unless smoothing is disabled) the periodic nodes of a mesh generated by TurboGrid will seek their own location/shape (to improve mesh quality), these nodes will not generally lie on the periodic surface. The periodic surface is only used to initialize the placement of periodic nodes - before smoothing.
