Why don't SHELL181 stress results match SHELL63 for this cantilevered plate benchmark?
There is about a 5% difference.

The main difference between the results is caused by SHELL181 reporting a centroidal value vs SHELL63 nodal values. For this model the different between the centroidal and nodal values is 5%. For pure bending of a thin single layer elastic shell, I think SHELL63 is slightly more accurate. |
