How are SMISC quantities reported for BEAM188?
In ANSYS Release 10.0, BEAM188 is a first order Timoshenko beam element which by default uses a linear shape function (one integration point along its length). Thus, the SMISC quantities are constant along the length and are reported at the centroid. If a quadratic shape function is requested (KEYOPT(3) = 2), then two integration points are used. The SMISC quantities will then vary linearly along the length and are reported at the ends. /prep7 et,1,188 et,2,189 et,3,188,,,2 mp,ex,1,10e6 mp,prxy,1,.3 sectype,1,beam,rect secdata,1,1 n,1 n,2,10 e,1,2 n,3,0,1 n,4,5,1 n,5,10,1 type,2 e,3,5,4 n,6,11 n,7,21 type,3 e,6,7 d,1,all,0 d,3,all,0 d,6,all,0 f,2,fy,-1000 f,5,fy,1000 f,7,fy,-1000 /solu solve /post1 etable,m_i,smis,3 etable,m_j,smis,16 plls,m_i,m_j |
