What is the future of Workbench Customization? (Includes Workbench SDK, scripting, and API programming) ?

Please see the information below : - At Version 11.0, The Ansys Workbench Customization is being removed from the documentation and is "for internal use only". - The Direct Object (scripting) interfaces will be changed significantly or discontinued at V12.0. - There are no plans to update documentation or training for the Direct Object interface. (Hence the name "Legacy" SDK documentation.) - There will be a statement in the V11.0 release documentation to this effect. - The Direct Object interface will be replaced with "Wrapper" functions that will simplify common Simulation interface tasks. This will essentially eliminate many lines of manual Jscript code that are now required. (i.e. Attach geometry, insert objects, etc.) - The "Wrapper" functions will be much easier to use, maintain and document. - Export Branch To Shortcut, which automatically creates a JScript macro, has been moved to Beta functionality in V10.0 because of such limitations and errors with the Direct Object interface. - Many of the functions that used to require customization in past releases are now becoming standard features. |
