Problem finding a Workbench file associated with a DesignModeler and CFX-Mesh file in ANSYS 10.0

Here is a workaround if you think that your DesignModeler (*.agdb) and CFX-Mesh file are disassociated from a Workbench database (*.wbdb).

If you do this, it's recommended that you take a back-up copy of all of the files beforehand, in case anything goes wrong.

- You should still be able to open the designmodeller geometry. If you open this and save it, it should be linked to a workbench database. The main problem is the CFX-Mesh files:

- Firstly, copy the existing .cmdb and .cmdat files to another directory somewhere.
- Now start a new CFX-Mesh session and save a new (blank) set of .cmdb and .cmdat files.
- Exit workbench, saving if prompted.
- Replace the new .cmdb and .cmdat files with the old ones you took a copy of.
- Re-open the project in Workbench. If you select CFX-Mesh, you should be back to where you started.

The same procedure can be used to copy the existing settings from an existing mesh to a new one.

Suggestion for general working, if you want to use DesignModeler, then always start up by clicking on a Workbench (*.wbdb)file, rather than from a DesignModeler file (*.agdb).
