I am trying to setup damping in my FLUID29/FLUID30 elements, but I am seeing no effect. What am I doing wrong?

We cannot simply use the structural damping multipliers to obtain damping in the acoustic fluid. You will likely need to define an absorbing boundary to see any phase shift. To do this, you will need to select the external nodes representing boundaries, then use "SF,ALL,IMPD,1" and set MP,MU to some value >0 and <1. Structural damping multipliers are valid for the FLUID80 elements, if you wanted to change from FLUID30. |
