KNOWN ISSUE: Universal Naming Convention (UNC) paths do not work in some cases

SYMPTOM: When a UNC path is used to locate a file or directory in CFX-Pre on Windows (e.g. //mycomputer/CFXFiles/mesh.gtm), it does not work. Typically, CFX-Pre will generate an error saying that the specified file cannot be read. PROBLEM: There are some areas of CFX that do not currently support UNC paths on Windows. Examples of this are: - Mesh Import dialog in CFX-Pre. - Profile Data dialog in CFX-Pre. - Solver temporary working directory but there may also be several others. WORKAROUND: No workaround is currently available, other than to specify a mounted drive (e.g. D:/CFXFiles/mesh.gtm). FIXED IN: No fix is currently available. |
