KR57: I am happy with FLUENT post-processing, what does CFD-Post offer me?
CFD-Post has a modern GUI with a similar structure to that of other ANSYS products. It can also be driven in batch-mode using CCL (CFX Control Language). CFD-Post offers: · Ease of use · Quality of the graphics · CFD-Post is a great tool for post-processing transient data (FLUENT is simply not a good tool for this type of post-processing) · Creation of a tree with all the post-processing info (variables, render, scale). In other words, the post-processing information is not `lost` as when one use FLUENT · Ability to annotate graphs, curves · The ability to create simulation post-processing reports is a great improvements from FLUENT-Post · Creating animations is extremely easy when compared to FLUENT-Post One thing to note is that the complete list of variables in Fluent are not available in CFD-Post R12. To have other quantities available in CFD Post, such as total pressure and temperature, one must manually export an expanded adapt file (.cdat) with the additional variables. |
