KNOWN ISSUE: Error in moving mesh correction for pressure-work term at Domain Interfaces (Class 3 Error)

SYMPTOM: In moving mesh cases that also use the Total Energy model, unphysical temperatures and/or fluctuations in temperature may be present in the solution at or near Domain Interfaces. PROBLEM: For cases that involve mesh deformation, an additional contribution to the pressure-work term in the Total Energy equation is required at Wall and Domain Interface boundaries. This contribution was incorrectly omitted for Domain Interfaces. WORKAROUND: For relatively low speed flows, it may be possibe to use the Thermal Energy equation without adverse effects. However, the solution should be checked carefully. FIXED IN: ANSYS CFX Release 13.0. A custom executable for ANSYS CFX Release 12.1 is available on request. |
