KNOWN ISSUE: Mass flow averages of particle variables may give incorrect results (Class 3 Error)

SYMPTOM: The calculation of mass flow averages of particle variables, such as massFlowAve(Particle.Temperature), in the CFX Solver will in general give incorrect answers, which may not be obvious to the user. PROBLEM: This is because the Solver uses the continous phase mass flows, rather than the particle phase mass flows, in calculating the average. WORKAROUND: If possible, calculate the mass flow averages in CFD-Post. FIXED IN: ANSYS CFX Release 13.0. A custom executable for ANSYS CFX Release 12.1 is available on request. |
