Setting the HOMEDIR Environment Variable


If the HOMEDIR environment variable is not defined, the configuration file, polyman.ini, cannot get written and any options you define in Polyman will not get saved and an Information Message shown below will open up.

Could not save the configuration file!
To avoid this message, define or check the environment variable HOMEDIR to a local directory

Resolution: Set the HOMEDIR environment variable.

Windows 2000/XP
1.Open up Control Panel, System, Advanced, Environment Variables.
2.Under User Variables or System Variables, click the New button.
3.In the Variable text box type: HOMEDIR.
4.In the Value text box type: <drive>:working (where working is the name of a working directory where Polyflow files will be written to)
5.Click OK.
