How to easily turn off visibility of all but a small subset of objects

Imagine a complex model in Gambit consisting of several volumes, all of which are currently visible. Now imagine you want to focus your efforts on a single volume or a small subset of those volumes and would like to make the other volumes invisible. One way to do this is to note the labels of all the volumes for which it is desired to preserve the visibility, turn the visibility off for all volumes, change the selection next to Volumes in the Specify Display Attributes form to pick, open the pick list by clicking on the arrow to the right, choose the individual volumes from the Volume List panel, and select Visibility On at the bottom of the Specify Display Attributes form.

Depending on how many volumes in the model and how many volumes are to be visible, this may be tedious.

Another possibility is to turn off the visibility of small groups of volumes using the Specify Display Attributes form until only the desired volumes remain visible.

This may also be very tedious.
In Gambit 2, there is an easier way to do this.

With all volumes visible in the graphics window, open the Specify Display Attributes form.
1. Select the tab to the left of Volumes, if it is not already selected. Click in the box to the right of Volumes. It should turn yellow, and the tab next to Volumes should switch from All to Pick.
2. Pick the volumes that are supposed to remain visible by shift-left-clicking on the volumes in the graphics window.
3. After all desired volumes have been selected in Step 2, click on the tab to the right of Volumes in the Specify Display Attributes form, and select All instead of Pick.
4. In the lower part of the Specify Display Attributes form, click on the box to the left of Visible, and select Off, to the right of Visible, then click Apply at the very bottom of the form.
5. In the Specify Display Attributes form, click on the tab to the right of Volumes, and change it from All to Pick. The settings in the pick list were not removed in the previous step. The outlines of the selected volumes should appear in red in the Graphics window.
6. In the lower part of the Specify Display Attributes form, click on the box to the left of Visible, and switch from Off to On, to the right of Visible, then click Apply at the very bottom of the form.

The desired volumes are now visible. Closing the Specify Display Attributes form will cause the volumes to change color from red to green.
The same procedure can also be applied to other geometrical entities.
