FLUENT 6.2: How to determine which Linux platform to download

For computers with Pentium processors, there are two FLUENT 6.2 download options for the Linux operating system:

Pentium+Linux (RHEL3/SLES9)

Pentium+Linux (SLES8)

Which one should I download?
In general, the Pentium + Linux (RHEL3/SLES9) download is for RedHat Enterprise3 and SuSe Linux Enterprise Server 9 and later. The Pentium + Linux (SLES8) download is for earlier versions, notably RedHat 7 but it depends on your version of glibc.

To check which version of glibc you have, execute the following command:

rpm -qa | grep glibc

If the output from this command is: glibc-2.3 ... then download the RHEL3/SLES9 package

If the output from this command is: glibc-2.2 ... then download the SLES8 package.
