POLYFLOW - Definition of temporary file for buffering

When and where does POLYFOW create a temporary file for buffering purposes?
Can the user assign a specific directory?
When running a calculation, POLYFLOW creates a pfl_buffer directory in the directory where the job has been launched, or according to a specified environment variable. When the swap space is not sufficient for creating the calculation matrices, POLYFLOW will create files in the said directory.
The user can change the location of the said directory with the commands:
Unix: % setenv TMPDIR <pathname>
Windows: Z:> set TMP=Y:temp
Notes:
- The referred directory should exist, and the pathname should not contain any blanks.
- On WIndows, the partition C, D or another one, should be selected according to the access rights and space availability.
