Writing initial trn files for cases with complicated call backs and topology may cause the CFX Solver to crash.
SYMPTOM: When writing a trn file at the start of the run, that is during initialization, in a parallel calculation with complex call backs and topology, the Solver might crash with the following error message: Length of variables list is not consistent in parallel. Routine GET_VARLST called from routine Write_Soln_ZifCs. PROBLEM: This is caused by the call backs only being evaluated on some partitions, and communication going astray. WORKAROUND: It may be possible to modify the topology of the call backs to ensure that evaluation is needed on all partitions. Alternatively, different partitioning methods may help. FIXED IN: ANSYS CFX Release 14.5. A custom executable for ANSYS Release 14.0 is available on request. |
