What is the minimum OUTRES setting to obtain reaction forces at CERIG master nodes? I successfully solved a harmonic response problem and contour plots of displacement can be produced in about 6 seconds for this particular model. However, contour plots for stress, even those that have been plotted before, take about 90 seconds to generate.


This problem was recently identified (Defect 60057) and will be corrected in Simulation at 11.0 SP1. There have also been reports of very slow frequency response plots of stress.

Development notes that these are still going to be slow if the Analysis Setting "Store Results At All Frequencies" is set to "Yes" and a lot of frequency points are solved for. If this setting is set to "No" then we will only write results for the entities the frequency response is scoped to and a complete set of results for requested contour plots. "Yes" is the default because it doesn`t require a complete resolve to add a new result item after solution and that seemed more user friendly.
