A workaround for bad syntax error when importing in Fluent from File > Import
If, when importing a mesh into FLUENT through File > Import in the GUI, an error message similar to the following appears:
Reading "| utility fe2ram -tANSYS -d3 C:Documents and Settingsmesh.cdb"... Error: bad syntax. There may be a very simple workaround. In Fluent 6.1, attempting to import a mesh file through File > Import may cause problems if there are any spaces in the path to the mesh file, for instance C:Documents and Settingsmesh.cdb. The workaround is to take the mesh file and relocate it to a directory with no space in the path, for instance C:project1mesh.cdb As long as the mesh file is valid, FLUENT will now be able to import it successfully. |
