A user has installed ANSYS v9.0 preview 3 on a machine with the following configuration:
AMD Opteron 250 with SuSE Professional 9.1
When he tries to start ANSYS, he receives the following error message:

/ansys_inc/v90/ansys/bin/linop64/ansys.e90: /ansys_inc/v90/ansys/syslib/linop64/
libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_3.3' not found (required by /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.
What is causing this error?

ANSYS 9.0 is not supported on AMD Opteron running SuSE 9.1. We are building on and supporting SuSE SLES 8. We do have an in-house AMD Opteron machine running SuSE 9.0, and have found that if you copy the following file to the /ansys/syslib directory, that ANSYS 9.0 will run. This may also work for you on SuSE 9.1. Try (as root): cp /lib64/libgcc_s.so.1 /ansys_inc/v90/ansys/syslib/linop64 |
