Q. I have set up a Conjugate Heat Transfer Analysis for CFX by importing a single assembly and defining solid and fluid domains. Since I have a continuous mesh between the solid and fluid domains, I expect that a solid-fluid interface will be automatically setup. However, it appears that this was not done, as I see in the results that the fluid temperature is unchanged. What should I check in my setup?

A. Be sure that you have not applied any boundary conditions to surfaces that will act as solid-fluid interfaces. If you name any of these faces, CFX requires that you set up the 1:1 interface manually. It looks at the default surface when automatically creating the interfaces.
