Why am I getting non-physical magnetic field results in Workbench 9.0 and 10.0?
I am using a line body to represent the coil.

This is a rare occurrence. Field results in models with conductors modeled as line bodies can be grossly incorrect when the implied 3D conductor surface passes close to iron material. There is an undocumented workaround available by contacting Dave Looman in ANSYS Technical Support in which the current is concentrated at the centerline of the conductor, avoiding the problem. |
