Trying to run the ANSYS Product Launcher, the user receives:
"Can't read env(Ansys_appdata_dir) no such variable"
What is the cause of this error?

Usually it is a permissions problem where the user is locked out of the registry. When logged in as the user, check to see if the following registry key exists: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerShell FoldersAppData It should point to the user's APPLICATION DATA directory: C:Documents and SettingsglkApplication Data One alternative is to log in as administrator and set the following environment variable: Variable: ANSYS_APPDATA_DIR Value: C:Documents and Settings<user>Application Data (Where <user> is the user's login name.) |
