I start ANSYS CFX 10 using the desktop icon. When I last used ANSYS CFX 10 (last Friday) it was working fine; today (Monday) I get an icon appearing in the Task bar which quickly goes away again and the Launcher does not open. I am running on a PC with Windows XP installed and the machine is also the license server.

To see if any further error messages are produced open a DOS Command Prompt window and change to the ANSYS CFX 10 installation directory (which by default will be c:program filesansys incCFXCFX-10.0) and then change to the bin directory. Type the command cfx5solve which should open up the Launcher. If this gives the following error message: ************* A fatal error has occurred in cfx5solve: Please ensure that either HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH or the HOME environment variable is set before running CFX-5. ************** then it is possible that a Windows XP Hotfix may have been applied to the machine between the last successful use of ANSYS CFX 10 and now.
