In a mixing vessel using MFR, where there is a rotating impeller with known torque on the blades. How can I find the rpm of the impeller?
Suggest that you carry out 3 runs of CFX for the rotating impeller MFR calculation. 1. Run1 - you specify an initial guess for the angular velocity omega, and the code will then calculate the torque on the blade. This will probably give a slightly different value of torque to that required. 2. Run 2 - change the value of omega slightly from that used in Run1 to get a new value of the torque. 3. Run 3 - As the relationship between torque and omega is a linear relationship, it should then be straight forward to cextrapolate from run1 and Run2 a new value of omega that you need to give the wanted torque |
