When modeling a plate impacted by a projectile, I used the Euler processor for the plate part. Why is there no deformation being observed on the backsurface of the plate?

Generally the Lagrange processor is used in AUTODYN to model solids and the Euler processors to model fluids. If the problem includes fluid-solid interaction, either use the ALE processor for the fluid and use the Lagrange processor for the solid, or use Lagrange processor for the solid and Euler processor for the fluid and then specify interactions between Euler and Lagrange parts. In an Euler part, if the back surface of the target plate is aligned with the Euler boundary you won't see any movement at the back surface of the target. You have to add some void region behind the plate in order to allow the back surface of material to move.
