Why do solid117 magnetic forces on conductor look wrong at 10.0?
At 10.0 the JXB force calculation was replaced with the new energy-based force calculation with EMFT. Due to the use of centroidal field values instead of integration point values, EMFT is not as accurate as the very accurate pre-10.0 JXB values. It was thought that a "back door" to the old JXB values was available with MAGOPT,MFFS, but that is producing a double value for the conductor forces and should not be used. At 11.0 development has added NMISC items 4-7 for the JXB forces in a static analysis. |
