Why is the FLUID136 method for obtaining squeeze-film damping giving a small
negative beta value and issuing a warning?
Squeeze-film damping is almost purely viscous and alpha damping dominates. The warning message can probably be ignored. A negative value for beta damping is quite common and will be accepted by ANSYS. There could be a problem at higher frequencies if the negative value is used, so you may just want to use the alpha damping value. |
