Are there any ANSYS LS-DYNA examples limiting Automatic General (AG) contact to a portion of the model?

Yes, please see the ANSYS LS-DYNA 11.0 example that is attached to this record. Although there is no Classic GUI support for this capability, you can create a part assembly of the parts that you wish to recognize the contact and use that part assembly ID in the EDCGEN,AG definition as the "CONT" value. Keep in mind that the part assembly number must be greater than any part ID in the model. In the attached example, part assembly 101 contains parts 1 (left plate) and 3 (block). The block does not detect the right plate (part 2), and passes through it, but is restrained by the plate on the left. . |
