Class 3 Error

SYMPTOM:
A transient rotor-stator case run in parallel, when two domains have different pitches, may behave oddly. Symptoms include failing in CFX Release 10.0 or Release 11.0, when the case previously ran without problems in CFX-5.7.1, failing when the number of passages is changed or failing when the physical models are simplified.

PROBLEM:
In ANSYS CFX Release 10.0, dynamic ordering of the boundary faces on the GGI interface sides was introduced in order to allow the support of non-overlap conditions. The calculated rotation matrix does not take proper account of this re-ordering and is therefore incorrect, which leads to problems when the two domains have different pitches. The exact behaviour depends on the partitioning

WORKAROUND:
No workaround is currently available.

FIXED IN:
ANSYS CFX Release 11.0 Service Pack 1.
