User observes that his model no longer converges after he switches his units from meters to inches in Workbench. The unit conversion is done correctly. Is this a bug?

In the example presented, the material is fully incompressible and the element has restraint in normal direction on left, right and bottom. On the top, pressure is applied, which tries to compress the material but material is not allowed to flow anywhere. The strain is in 1.0e-12 to 10e-14 (basically zero). This makes the problem not solveable.

The ANSYS line search convergence tool is unit dependent. The converged solution in metric system is pure luck because FEM gives approximate solutions.
This is not a code error, but a numerical limitation. If you tighten the tolerance in this particular example, both units systems will fail.
Refer to Defect Report #62589 for the test model and a full disposition from Development Group.
