How do I get the SESAME Library and Convert it to AUTODYN Material Library?

The SESAME library was collected and edited by Los Alamos National Laboratory in USA. SESAME library is a data collection of equation of state for about 70 materials including metals, minerals, polymers, and mixtures. We don't distribute this library. We only provide the access to the SESAME library from AUTODYN. Users should apply directly to the Los Alamos National Laboratory to get the license before using the library with AUTODYN. To obtain a copy of the Sesame Library, you need to get permission from the Los Alamos National Laboratory. They will ask you to sign an agreement. Crockett T-1, Mail Stop B221 Los Alamos National Laboratory Los Alamos, NM 87545 Fax: (505) 606-0917 Once you have the approval from Los Alamos to download the data, we can send you the conversion tool so you can put the SESAME library into the format that AUTODYN can read. Since the SESAME library has no information about usable range of the data, please make sure you use them properly. The attached is the updated SESAME conversion program that is compatible with the AUTODYN software version 6 .1 and above. You should use this program to create the SESLIB material library and then copy the new library to your user setting directory: C:Documents and Settingsuser_nameApplication DataAnsysv110AUTODYN. To do this, please follow the instructions below: 1. Download the attached file to your computer and then unzip the file. 2. The ASCII file that has been sent to you by LANL should be placed in the same directory as the executable sesconv.exe. Please make sure that the ASCII file is renamed to export.dat. 3. Run the sesconv.exe program and a file called seslib should be created. 4. Copy the seslib file to your user setting directory: C:Documents and Settingsuser_nameApplication DataAnsysv110AUTODYN. 5. Start AUTODYN, create a new model and then selected Materials --> New and give the material a name. 6. Select 'Sesame' as the equation of state. Then a drop down list titled Sesame Table Number will appear. Under this list you can select the material from the SESAME library that you wish to use. Note that in AUTODYN version 6.1 and above you will not be able to see any material data in the interface (only the name of the SESAME material selected) as the SESAME library contains tables of data for each material which are too large to display in the AUTODYN interface. |
