Why do the radiosity commands RSYMM/RSURF not work on this 60-degree cyclic model?

These features only work if the sides of the model are planar and radial. The algorithm is internally computing the sector angle incorrectly for the skewed case based on maximum and minimum theta values. An undocumented fix has been created in ANSYS 12.0 that will base the sector angle on the NSECT input if NSECT is negative.

In ANSYS 11.0, a workaround is to temporarily generate a 360-degree set of elements, create the SURF252 elements, and then delete the temporary elements.

Feature request 69859 has been created to make these commands fully support cyclic models with non-radial or non-planar sides.
