KNOWN ISSUE: Wrong Wall Heat Flux for moving walls when using Total Energy model (Class 3 Error)

SYMPTOM: In cases where moving walls (mesh motion) are used in conjunction with the Total Energy model, the heat flux at any non-adiabatic moving wall is incorrect. PROBLEM: This is due to a bug in the CFX-Solver. The pressure-work contribution due to mesh motion is incorrectly being accumulated into the wall heat flux variable. The size of the discrepancy will depend on the amount of pressure work performed by the moving wall. All other solution values are unaffected. WORKAROUND: No workaround is currently available. FIXED IN: ANSYS CFX Release 12.1. A custom executable for ANSYS CFX Release 12.0 is available on request. |
