KNOWN ISSUE: CFD-Post fails to read a Fluent file if a cell zone name is the same as a fluid name

SYMPTOM: A Fluent cas/dat file fails to read into CFD-Post with an error such as: ERROR Parent of new object ('/SCALAR VARIABLE:/DATA READER/CASE:Case <case name>/DOMAIN:<fluid name>.Mass Flow') does not exist in the database. PROBLEM: This error occurs when a) the case has more than one fluid, but no multiphase model enabled (e.g. because each fluid is present in a different cell zone), and b) one of the fluid names is the same as one of the cell zone names. WORKAROUND: No workaround is currently available. To avoid the problem choose names for the fluids which are not the same as the names of the cell zones. FIXED IN: ANSYS CFX Release 12.1. |
