KNOWN ISSUE: Kinetic theory model in multidomain cases (Class 3 Error if it were not mentioned in errata)

SYMPTOM: When using the kinetic theory model for multiphase granular flows with multidomain problems, the CFX-Solver may stop with a segmentation violation because of a bug discretizing the dilatational stresses at GGI interfaces. In addition, the dilatational stress contribution to the viscous work model of the total energy equation is incorrect. PROBLEM: This is caused by errors in the coding of interfaces for the kinetic theory model. WORKAROUND: No workaround is currently available. FIXED IN: ANSYS CFX Release 12.1. A custom executable for ANSYS CFX Release 12.0 is available on request. |
