KR18: What is a journal file in FLUENT?

A journal file is a series of TUI commands stored in a text file. The file can be written in a text editor with text commands and scheme commands or generated by FLUENT as a transcript of the commands given during your session.

A journal file generated by FLUENT will include any GUI operations that are performed.

Journal files are executed sequentially. To include loops, scheme commands have to be used in conjunction with text commands.

To generate a journal file automatically with FLUENT, start recording with

File -> Write -> Start Journal...,

Perform whatever tasks you need, and then stop recording with

File -> Write -> Stop Journal...

To execute a journal file, read it using

File à Read à Journal
