KR341: How to obtain Contact Forces in ANSYS Mechanical APDL?

You should not use PLESOL and PRESOL command to obtain contact forces for contact elements. The force values reported by these commands may not be accurate for these elements. Instead, use the ETABLE command to obtain contact force values. The help doc has been modified and a footnote has been added in both the PLESOL and PRESOL commands to indicate that these commands should not be used to obtain contact forces, and that ETABLE should be used instead. A similar statement has been put in Section 3.14 (Reviewing the Results) of the Contact Technology Guide. These doc changes are not available in ANSYS help doc of V11SP1 and R12.0. These changes are made in both the 12.1 and 13.0 versions of the doc. I have attached the modified sections of help doc for your reference. |
