Tips for using GAMBIT on Linux Systems

Here are some tips for effectively using GAMBIT on Linux systems
(1) Turn off NumLock key. Otherwise it messes up mouse button and keyboard Modifier keys.

(2) If user has trouble with Shift-Left-Click picking (so far only found with Gnome window manager), he may be able to fix it by changing his window manager inner window mouse action settings.

Open Control Center -> Look & Feel -> Window Behavior, for inner window actions for Left Button, change from Move to Nothing. If this still does not work, try other window manager (like KDE).

(3) If user has trouble switching between 'picking' and 'view manipulation' mode by pressing right and left button at the same time, then it may be the case that "emulate Button3" option is on. To turn it off (normally require root access), edit file /etc/X11/XF86Config, line:
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "on"
then change "on" to "off".
You may have to reboot the system.
