What is the difference between the compact and detailed PCB model in Icepak?
The Compact PCB Model includes: o A Non-isotropic plate/block o It uses effective in-plane and normal conductivities throughout the board. o Icepak automatically calculates in-plane and normal conductivities based on the PCB layers information. ` The Detailed PCB Model includes: o An FR4 plate or block, and o Copper layers modeled as conducting thin plates and automatically created by icepak based on the layer information provided by users. ` Both the options assumed that all the internal layers are identical For additional information, refer following section: Icepak 12.1 User Guide -> Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) -> Types of PCBs |
