My ANSYS software writes temporary files to a network drive, but this drive is not available when I take my laptop off site. How can I change the location of these temporary files?

The network drive is set to your home directory e.g. H:HOMEusername. It is set by your IT administrator when your account was created on your computer. It can be changed by setting the environment variables HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH on Windows or HOME on Unix, but it is more properly done on Windows in the Control Panel -> User Accounts. Example paths: HOMEDRIVE=C: HOMEPATH=Documents and SettingsFred so that the HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH concatenated is your home directory folder name. |
