Is there a way to import DesignModeler geometry in TGrid for meshing?

Tgrid only reads faceted geometry. If you have a geometry in DM, please connect the geometry cell with a mesh cell. Open the meshing application and allow the geometry to be read in. You may want to define Named Selection (select face(s), right-mouse-botton, and select Named Selection). No need to mesh the geometry. After this, File --> export and select Tgrid Faceted Geometry (*.tgf). A STL-type faceted file will be written then. Then in TGrid, File --> Read. Due to differences in tolerance between tgrid and ANSYS Meshing Platform, each geometry facets will be free (not connected to its neighboring facets).To merge the nodes of neighboring free facets, go to Boundary --> Merge Nodes, specify a small tolerance, and click on Merge. |
