Windows 7 and ANSYS Mechanical APDL slow solving when machine is locked

Problem Description: ANSYS Mechanical APDL-Solve run slows down on Windows 7 when the machine is locked. Resolution: By default the Windows 7 Power Management is set to "Balanced". Changing the power settings to "High Performance" should resolve this issue. The Balanced setting slows the disk down and enables options like hibernation. Changing Power Management Options Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Power Options > check High Performance. |
