ANSYS WORKBENCH - Permission Denied
Problem Description: When starting ANSYS Workbench the script error: "Permission Denied" is displayed. You may also exhibit the following behavior: -Gray screen -Blank screen -Windows Panes appear to be split -Unable to import or attach any geometry files, even simple models that worked previously -Plugin Error : Attach Failed for any model -Workbench stops responding (locks-up or freezes) Resolution 1 : In the Design Modeler or Simulation Toolbar open up the View menu, Windows, Reset Layout Resolution 2 : 1.Reset all of the Workbench settings and preferences by renaming the following directory: C:Documents and Settings<user>Application DataAnsysv110 TO: C:Documents and Settings<user>Application DataAnsysv110.old NOTE: The "Application Data" directory is normally a hidden directory. To unhide it open Windows Explorer, Tools menu, Folder Options, View tab. Uncheck "Show Hidden Files and Folders". You will then be able to view this directory.You can easily get to the users Application Data directory by entering %APPDATA% in Windows Explorer or My Computer Address field. 2.Edit the Windows registry using the registry editor, Start, Run, regedit 3.Rename the key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareANSYS, Inc.v110 to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareANSYS, Inc.v110.old 4.Manually register the DLLs listed below by starting a Command Prompt and changing to the directory c:windowssystem32 and type: regsvr32.exe ole32.dll regsvr32.exe atl.dll regsvr32.exe oleaut32.dll regsvr32.exe scrrun.dll regsvr32.exe wshom.ocx regsvr32.exe jscript.dll regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll IMPORTANT NOTE: Before making changes to the registry make a backup copy. Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Contact your Systems Administrator for assistance. 5.Run the ANSYS Workbench 11.0 setup again and select the `Repair` option. |
